Marc J. Lane

Marc J. Lane is an AV-rated attorney, author of over 30 books on corporate management, taxation and personal finance as well as Socially Responsible Investing (SRI). He is the founder of the Marc J. Lane Wealth Group® which, with roots going back to 1971, includes The Law Offices of Marc J. Lane, P.C.; Marc J. Lane Investment Management, Inc., an SEC-registered investment advisor; Marc J. Lane & Company a FINRA-registered, full-service general securities firm; and Marc J. Lane Risk Management, Inc., an insurance agency.

His most recent book, the critically acclaimed Profitable Socially Responsible Investing: An Institutional Investor's Guide, Euromoney Institutional Investor Books, 2005, challenges the way traditional SRI is done and paves the way for investors to actually fulfill the promise of doing well as they do good.

Out of that research he has developed a proprietary approach to principle focused investing, Advocacy Investing®, which is consistent with the tenets of Modern Portfolio Theory, and also allows investors to own stock portfolios that are highly consistent with their core values and beliefs. Advocacy Investing® reflects Marc J. Lane Wealth Group's commitment to drive positive social change, to promote transparency and corporate accountability to stakeholders, and to apply business and entrepreneurial principles to the remediation of social problems.

Mr. Lane is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Northwestern University School of Law, where he has taught courses in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance and where he currently teaches the Social Enterprise course.
